Results so far
In the Club class, five tasks have now been completed, and the lead has moved around considerably. Roelof Corporaal, flying an LS7 neo, currently heads the field with 3,174 points, just 7 points ahead of Alessandro Bassalti in a DG-300 on 3,167. György Gulyás, flying an ASW 20, sits third on 3,091, with Alexandre Fierain and Kim Toppari rounding out the top five. The scores are tight enough that the top six or seven pilots remain within reach of the lead heading into today's task.
The 15 Metre class has completed four scored tasks. Vladas Motuza leads in an ASG 29 with 2,419 points, narrowly ahead of Timothy Scott in a JS3 Jet on 2,393 and Łukasz Grabowski in an AS 33 Es on 2,391. The gap from first to third is under thirty points, and several pilots further down the order, including Thies Bruins and Jacek Flis, both flying JS3 Jets, remain close enough to move up with a strong day.
The Standard class has also completed four scored tasks, with Robin Smit leading in an LS8 Neo on 2,652 points. Jeroen Jennen, also flying an LS8, follows on 2,630, with Jakub Barszcz third in an LS8 neo on 2,565. As with the other two classes, the top of the field is closely bunched, with under 90 points separating first from fourth place.
Tasks set for 22 July
Task 6 has been published for all three classes. The Club class task is a fixed-distance course of 409.33 km, routing from the start at Binie through Panoszów, Włoszczowa, Ków, Dalachów and Gstyc before returning home.
The Standard class task covers 419.69 km, starting at Zale and routing through Panoszów, Kra, Gmo, Prz and Gstyc before finishing back at the home airfield.
The 15 Metre class has been set an assigned area task, with a minimum distance of 333.50 km and a maximum of 550.98 km, giving a nominal distance of 432.92 km over a task time of 3 hours 30 minutes. The route runs from Golu through Jelonki, Lop, Prz and Chełmiec before returning home.
All three tasks share the same grid time of 10:00 local and the same start window opening at 11:00 local, with a QNH of 1019 hPa and elevation of 142 m at the airfield. A number of restricted areas around the task area have been declared inactive for the day, opening up additional airspace for the pilots to use.
With standings close across all three classes, today's results have the potential to reshape the leaderboard.
