The weather forecast is for moderate north westerly winds with thermals to 1800m. Areas of mid-level clouds which may make crossing at low altitudes difficult. You can see the weather forecast below from TopMeteo.
Open Class — Task A (v3), Duration 2:30
The Open Class task has been set an AAT of 142.to 351 km.
Gliders will depare via a start line (North 15K, radius 5.00 km) heading south before turning north-northwest to the first area at Staré Miasto (816STAR), a large cylinder with a 30 km radius centred roughly 84 km from the start before turning south-southeast toward Panki (341PANKI), a 20 km cylinder about 71 km further on. From Panki the route continues northeast to Stobiecko (355STOBIECKO, 10 km cylinder), then south to East 20K (833EAST20K, 5 km cylinder) before the final leg west-southwest back to Częstochowa-Rudniki (001EPRU, 5 km cylinder).

18 Metre Class — Task A (v2), Duration 2:00
The 18 Metre task is the shortest in time at two hours. With an optimised route of approximately 260 km from a total possible 384 km, gliders needed to sustain around 130 kph to cover the full optimised task.
The task starts from Kobylczyce (264KOBYLCZYCE), a 15 km start line, heading west-northwest to the largest area of the day across all classes: Wieruszów (219WIERUSZOW), a 40 km cylinder located approximately 103 km out. From Wieruszów, gliders turn south-southeast to Panoszów (771PANOSZOW, 15 km cylinder, about 64 km), then northeast to Stobiecko (355STOBIECKO, 10 km cylinder), east to East 20K (833EAST20K, 5 km cylinder), and finally west-southwest home to Rudniki (001EPRU, 5 km cylinder).
20 Metre Multi-Seat Class — Task A (v2), Duration 2:30
The 20 Metre Multi-Seat gliders have thr longest possible distance of the day at 411 km, with an optimised task of approximately 271 km. Like the Open class, they had two and a half hours, requiring an average of around 109 kph to cover the optimised distance.
The task starts from North 5K (281NORTH5K), a 10 km start line close to the airfield, heading north before turning west-northwest to Ostrzeszów (137OSTRZESZO), the first area cylinder with a large 45 km radius located about 104 km out. This isthe biggest single cylinder of the day and offere significant optimisation opportunity. From Ostrzeszów, gliders turn southeast to Panki (341PANKI, 20 km cylinder, approximately 83 km), the same turnpoint used by the Open class, then traced the same concluding sequence: northeast to Stobiecko, south to East 20K, and west-southwest to the finish at Rudniki.
The Multi-Seat task shared the Panki turnpoint with Open, and the same Stobiecko, East 20K, and EPRU finish sequence with both other classes. Task setters clearly structured the day so that the central and final portions of all three routes overlapped, concentrating traffic in those sectors while keeping the first legs divergent across different parts of the Polish landscape northwest of Częstochowa.
Conditions and Observations
It looks like a tricy day for the contestants. It will be interesting to see how both the gliders and their pilots perfom in these marginal conditions.
