Stefan Langer IGC Champion Pilot - World Soaring Cup

Stefan Langer, 18m World Gliding Champion and the recipeint of the 2024 IGC Champion Pilot of the Year award. 

At the IGC Plenary meeting in Celje, Slovenia, Stefan Langer was named  IGC Champion Pilot of the Year 2024 and winner of the World Soaring Cup.

Stefan took 1st place in 18M Class at WGC Uvalde in August 2024. He scored 95.8% of maximum possible points in the contest making him the best performing World Gliding Champion in 2024.

IGC Champion Pilot
The Champion Pilot of the Year award was created to recognise the top performance in FAI World Gliding Championships. Each Championship calendar year, the FAI World Champion with the highest score is named the IGC Champion Pilot of the Year and is also awarded the World Soaring Cup.
